Lexicon Alex Impulse Responses

This is a collection of impulse responses for the Lexicon Alex. These files can be loaded into a convolution reverb to simulate the processing of the Lexicon Alex. Each response was recorded directly using a transient sample. Chorus and flanger responses were not recorded, as they can not be accurately simulated with a convolution reverb. Echo and Delays were also skipped, as they do not color the sound as much as reverb settings in this unit.

Responses were tested with Convolution Reverb plugin packaged in Max for Live as included in Live 9 Suite. These files should also work in any other convolution reverb which accepts a directly recorded response.

Twelve algorithms of the Alex have been measured at 5 different decay settings. The decay was set as follows:

XSmall = 1

Small = 5

Medium = 12

Large = 15

xLarge = 16

Though only slightly higher, setting the decay to 16 results in a much larger simulated space as compared to setting 15.
