Tech 21 NYC Boost RVB Impulse Responses
This is a collection of impulse responses for the Tech 21 NYC Boost RVB reverb pedal. These files can be loaded into a convolution reverb to simulate the processing of the Tech 21 NYC Boost RVB reverb pedal. Each response was recorded directly using a transient sample.
Different settings of the controls on the pedal were used to record each response. The mix was always 100 percent wet, though this does still allow the input signal to pass to some degree. Settings 01-27 were recorded with the Rumble knob at minimum, while settings 28-34 had the knob at maximum.
Three variations of the Tone knob were recorded:
Bright: mostly fully clockwise
Dark: midway
XDark: extra dark, mostly fully anticlockwise
Three variations of the Feedback knob were recorded. Higher settings were skipped for most responses, as runaway oscillation occurred:
HF: half feedback, midway
QF: quarter feedback, halfway between midway and fully anticlockwise
MF: minimal feedback, fully anticlockwise
Again, three variations of the Time knob were recorded:
Long: fully clockwise
Medium: mostly midway
Short: fully anticlockwise
Each file name shows the settings used for settings 01-27. For example, consider this file name:
Boost_RVB-20-XDark-Medium-HF
This means the Tone knob was fully anticlockwise, Time knob was mostly midway and the Feedback knob was midway.
The remaining settings were recorded for special effect:
28-Feedbacker: Feedback is moved while the impulse decays, resulting in some oscillation.
29-Dark Feedbacker: Same as Feedbacker, but with the Tone knob turned down.
30-Clipper: Like Feedbacker, but allows the oscillation to clip in the pedal.
31-Dark Clipper: Same as Clipper, but with the Tone knob turned down.
32-Ringer: Feedback and Tone knobs are set to turn the pedal into a resonator.
33-Dark Ringer: Same as Ringer, but with theTone knob turned down.
34-Long Ringer: A very long version of the Ringer settings.
Since this is a guitar pedal, it may be necessary to boost the impulse in the convolution reverb plugin to better hear the effect.
